About the Performance

Crossover pianist Maksim, one of the world’s best-selling artists in the genre, is coming to Sweden for just five concerts as part of the acclaimed Segmenti World Tour. The tour includes over 100 performances on four continents, with an expected audience of over 500,000 people – and on November 5, Maksim plays at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress!

Virtuoso pianist Maksim, winner of MTV Music Awards and first prize winner of prestigious international music competitions, will perform works from his twelfth studio album, SEGMENTI, alongside special pieces that have defined his career. Iconic works by legendary classical composers such as Chopin, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky are presented alongside new interpretations of world-famous songs by Queen, ABBA and others, enriched with modern and rock-influenced arrangements and performed in Maksim’s unique piano style.

The concert will also include live performances of internationally acclaimed pieces from his previous albums, such as ‘Exodus’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Game of Thrones’, all of which have been very popular with audiences.

Together with his band on stage, Maksim Segmenti World Tour goes far beyond a traditional piano concert, combining powerful stage production and visually striking effects to create an immersive experience. This special evening promises an energetic, cinematic celebration of piano music, transforming the concert into an unforgettable live experience.

With over 5 million albums sold worldwide and recipients of multiple gold and platinum records, Maksim is considered one of the most successful names in crossover piano music, combining classical repertoire with modern power and energy. His concerts offer audiences a unique experience through high intensity, cinematic scenography and impressive visual productions.

One of the most outstanding tracks from the latest studio album SEGMENTI is “Prokofiev’s Fantasy”, which will be performed during the concert. The piece is conceived as a coherent composition that brings together three of Sergei Prokofiev’s most iconic works: the brilliant Toccata – long part of Maksim’s repertoire; lyrical themes from Romeo and Juliet, arranged by John Lenahan; and the magnificent coda from Piano Concerto No. 3, one of the most technically demanding passages ever written for the instrument.

– “This piece is among the most complex and technically difficult I have ever recorded,” says Maksim. I have loved the Third Piano Concerto since childhood and have always dreamed of performing it. For the album, I decided to leave the code exactly as it is written – I did not change a single note. It’s almost impossible to play, but at the same time incredibly catchy and full of joy. I can’t wait to perform it live and hear the audience’s reaction!
