About the Performance

In 2022, Anders “Ankan” Johansson had great success with his solo debut Everyone Knows Ankan. It was a full house for a year and a half, Borås Tidning described it as “the year’s best stand-up show” and Barometern crowned Ankan as “among the most beloved we have”. In the autumn of 2025 and spring of 2026, Ankan returns to the stage with a newly written comedy performance. The new show has the slightly different title It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle – A comedy show by and with Anders “Ankan” Johansson and is a comedy performance about how we never learn. Ankan thought we agreed that it is good to tell the truth, help each other and be kind, but apparently not. The pranksters and mistakes come back. On January 18, Ankan comes to UKK in Uppsala with his show!

With over 20 years in the humor and media industry, Anders “Ankan” Johansson has become one of Sweden’s most beloved comedians, including as one half of the popular comedy duo Anders & Måns. In 2020, Ankan was named Male Comedian of the Year at the “Swedish Humor Prize” gala and last autumn he won the TV award Kristallen for his slightly different travel program “Rusty Roadtrips”, which he made for SVT together with Valle Westesson. We have also been able to see him sail “Over the Atlantic” on Kanal 5. In It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle – A comedy show by and with Anders “Ankan” Johansson, Ankan wants to take the audience on a new journey:

“‘It’s the same donkey, just with a new saddle’ – is an Afghan proverb that is said about people who have won a higher position than they deserve. There is much that makes me happy, much that makes me wonder and a lot that makes me angry. You slowly become surprised. Didn’t we agree that it’s good to tell the truth, help each other and be kind? Apparently, we never learn, idiocy, pranksters and mistakes come back. Who is rewarded and who is not? Old opinions, ancient mistakes, the same guys, new costume. I want to joke about this. This will be my second solo performance. I am the same donkey – just with a new saddle. Hope you want to come.”
