About the Performance
With his unique ability to balance the absurd with recognition, Christoffer Nyqvist has become one of Sweden’s most beloved young comedians. Now he is back with a new stand-up show The Lion from the North, which comes to Uppsala on November 13. It will be the comedian’s first appearance on UKK’s big stage!
Despite the title, it’s not about Gustav II Adolf, but instead it’s a silly 75-minute show about what Christoffer has been thinking about since the last time.
– I want to play with the one-man show format this time and the idea is actually that it will be a little more show, which you might not associate with me directly. But it’s something I’ve wanted to try for a long time and it’s important to take the opportunity now that we’ve booked bigger stages than a pallet,” says Christoffer.
Christoffer started doing stand-up when he was 17 years old, ten years ago now. The Lion of the North will be his second solo tour.
– I think it’s fun to write standup, to come up with jokes. As usual, I start from myself, and in the absence of that, news. That’s why I need to start reading the newspaper again and/or experience terrible things that I can make funny,” he says.
