About the Performance

Lunch Concert at UKK – Entertaining, Short and Sweet

Carl Michael Bellman’s song treasure has captivated generations. His songs have always been relevant and have always been reworked – from the 19th century’s choral arrangements, via the early 20th century’s “lonely old man with wig and lute style”, to freer interpretations during the second half of the same century. In this lunch concert, we get to hear Duo Visklang’s innovative versions of the great bard’s works, which at the same time preserve tradition. With song, guitar and accordion, they bring folk music, jazz, art music – and even oom-pah-pah – into Bellman’s 18th century world!

Duo Visklang has been guests of honor at the Bellman Society, which has praised their exciting new interpretations. The singer and guitarist William Sundman Sääf has released two acclaimed albums with Carl Michael’s songs, and has also participated with his Bellman interpretations in SVT and Sveriges Radio.

About Duo Visklang

Duo Visklang and William Sundman Sääf have quickly made a name for themselves in Stockholm’s song circles as a young and innovative musical force. With a repertoire ranging from medieval ballads to today, listeners can sway along to beloved songs by poets and songwriters such as Carl Michael Bellman, Dan Andersson, Evert Taube and Olle Adolphson, but also to lesser-known songs – and even be surprised by music from genres that are rarely played as songs. Duo Visklang makes the traditional feel modern and the modern feel traditional.

William Sundman Sääf – Vocals and Guitar

William is a trained composer with a master’s degree from the Royal College of Music. His love for both song and art music can be heard in the imaginative and creative arrangements. In 2023, his debut album Sundman interprets Bellman was released, where Andreas Sporrong also participates on several songs. In the spring of 2025, the sequel Jag kan dig aldrig förglömma was released, which has been called “the most exciting since Fred Åkerström and Cornelis Vreeswijk”, and has received more very positive reviews in the music press. Songs from the album have been played frequently on Sveriges Radio P2 and have also been named “best right now”. In 2025, William Sundman Sääf was awarded the Taube Society’s cultural prize, for innovatively advancing the Swedish song tradition in Taube’s spirit.

Andreas Sporrong – Accordion and Choir

Andreas has a master’s degree in both accordion from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and in composition from the Royal College of Music. He is a frequently hired accordionist and composer, and has been awarded several major scholarships, including from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. During 2024, he composed and recorded his first solo album, which will be released in 2025.
