About the Performance

The concert series Carte Blanche with Trio X as curators has featured many interesting secret guests, and audiences have experienced many exciting musical encounters. The concert series has long been a great success with Trio X and friends on stage – each time drawing hundreds of Uppsala residents and visiting guests in the audience.

Everything is secret and the surprise element is doubled!

Two guests are invited and kept secret from the audience, and one of these guests is asked to invite another guest who remains secret even from the trio. The idea behind Carte Blanche is to leave room for playfulness and unpretentiousness with the secret guests, allowing the relaxed and musical atmosphere to spread from the stage to the large audience. At the same time, the spontaneous moments and improvisations during previous Carte Blanche concerts have demonstrated the extraordinary musicality of both Trio X and the visiting artists.

You are warmly welcome from 2:00 PM when UKK’s restaurant opens, offering hot dishes, refreshments, and a wide selection of beverages.

In addition to Musik i Uppland and Uppsala Concert & Congress, there is a third party involved in organizing Carte Blanche – Friends of the House of Music. With support from the association, it remains possible to offer free admission to this popular event!

Trio X

Trio X is one of Sweden’s most renowned piano trios. The trio’s distinctive character lies in their exploratory and genre-crossing music, and these experienced musicians draw inspiration from many genres. Lennart Simonsson, Per V. Johansson, and Joakim Ekberg began their collaboration in 2002 and have since recorded several albums, collaborated with numerous well-known artists, and toured both in Sweden and abroad.
